This is "The Other ANZACS" repackaged
19 January 2015
This book is actually "The Other ANZACS" (2008) re-titled to fit in with the ANZAC Girls TV series, so if you've already read "The Other Anzacs", give this a miss. I didn't realise until I started to read it again, thinking I must have mixed up the author's names... Not too bothered by it, since it was on sale when I bought it and having a digital copy is really useful for me, but I'd be unhappy otherwise.
This is a really interesting history of the Australian nurses in WWI. It was partly what sparked my interest in WWI nursing history and the medical side of the Great War, which I'm now writing a thesis on.
I would recommend you read this in conjunction with "The Daughters of Mars" by Tom Keneally, as much of this historical material has been used in his novel, which is a really great read.
