The Mercenaries are back, only this time the stakes are higher than ever. Colonies aren't allowed under galactic law so what to do? Action from the start, character development and some tech elements are slowly revealed. James McGill is a funny character, he doesn't handle authority well and seems to land in the brown stuff regularly but usually saves the day. His interactions with the ladies is a constent amusement to me.
It's rare that an author comes up with an original plot that not only captivates the reader, but can last for multiple plots. B.V. Larson does this, and does it well in his "Undying Mercenaries" series of books, and I sincerely hopes he continues the series.
