A pretty good read

Beautifully Forgotten not only depicts the story of Darcy and Lucien, but it continues the story of Ember and Trace. I like the characters, and there are a lot, so you need to remember names, places, characteristics and relationships.
There are strong threads that started out in book 1 and these are woven throughout book 2, so there are links and twists. The 'who done it?' elements are very interesting and well-thought out. The dialogue is good and there's plenty of drama, with some humour to lighten the plot.
My criticisms of the book are: There are a couple of times when the characters make light of dramatic circumstances, for example, the taxi scene with Kyle, Darcy and Ember. This is a bit confusing, when the characters take the plot seriously for the majority of time. It's almost like the author couldn't make up her mind what the traits of her characters were. Next, the sex scenes bordered on becoming boring and losing impact because they were all very, very descriptive.
Overall though, it was a pretty good read.
