I've read some of the Sullivan books, this is Mia's story. This can easily be read as a standalone but you are updated with previous characters. It wasn't an issue as they are explained.
The spoiler scenario: a chance meeting & one week fling 5yrs ago, which ended badly. Both professing their love. Ford is reminded of that through a video & yes they meet again. However not happily for Mia. Wam bam love blossoms. SO As this is fiction it's just a fantasy & a good one at that with a perfectly written story. I didn't mean to be sarcastic it's just a moment of enlightenment for me as I'm thinking seriously does this happen in real life? It could but I didn't let that bother me.
This author has produced some great books like this one so don't let it deter you. It's just a way of escaping & retreating from some of the darker reads that are out there at the moment.
I love Bella André's books, but I love her ability to make sexy feel romantic.... Oh but in creating Mia, she created a character that owned herself, her personality, her sexuality, her mind. She makes the book. Enjoy the read - fall in love with the precocious, honest, super-charged Mia!
