5.0 out of 5 starsNot for the more religious amongst us.

This is a fun romp through the first chunk of the Old Testament, giving an unholy rundown of what occurs.

Believers, please note: Don't get this book. At best, you will be sorely offended. At worst, you will realise just how foolish the old men's tales actually are.

I can recommend this book for anyone needing a quick refresher on the nitty gritty of the Bible without having to sort through all of those "begats" or try to make sense of the sudden name changes or inexplicable repetition of storylines.

2.0 out of 5 starsWhy Bother . . . . ?

Firstly let me declare where I am coming from. I was raised a Christian and am now a non-believer by choice.
The Books of Moses in the Old Testament reflects the morality of ancient middle eastern nomads. Of course these contrast poorly with the current standards. There may be some hiddden wisdom hidden but there is great danger in thinking that they are a history or indeed a guide on how to live today. If you are bright enough to work this out then you have no need of Steve Ebling's book.
The author points out the inconsistencies and the every changing mind of "god". However it is overdone and to my mind just becomes a rant. It cannot convince people of faith and adds nothing to the knowledge of atheists. Perhaps it is trying to be funny?

1.0 out of 5 starsAbsolute crap.

For an atheistic chap like me this was absolute drivel. The author certainly has an understanding of Genesis but the language is so boring that it loses any potential humor. Still one can hardly complain about the price even if there is nothing of value within.

What a great read. So important for Steve to continue on with this hilarious interpretation of the bible. Can't wait for the next episode.

5.0 out of 5 starsA comedy of biblical proportions
3 April 2016
Format: Kindle EditionVerified Purchase
One of the most engaging books I've read. I found myself laughing aloud half the time and reflecting on the pure creativity of this interpretation for the other half. The cleverness of this book lies in its author's ability to plummet and plunder the often incomprehensible story of the bible, re-interpret it, and present it in a way that is very easy to read and highly entertaining. I ploughed through it in one sitting and was genuinely disappointed when it ended. I'd like to think El or Yahweh was working through Steve Ebling as he wrote this, in an effort to gain some credibility as a God with a sense of humour, but I guess he already felt he covered that with the bible, because, as Steve repeatedly implies, it is a farce a lot of the time. A big thumbs up. I hope you were rewarded with many striped goats for this offering Steve, with maybe a few cousins thrown in too!
