The best.This book offers perhaps the clearest reasons for keeping up the daunting task of meditation.Most attempts are either cluttered with too much esoteric information or,conversely,too vague .Kabat-Zinn has demonstrated beautifully how meditation works, and presents clear evidence of the efficacy of the practice.His writing is both accessible and compassionate.He reminds us that we all have power to overcome the tyranny of self and in doing so we may deal with the vast challenges of our times.
I'm reading the book as I participate in the eight-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course, and the book is terrific, as is the course. Life affirming and a wonderful look at how I can try to reverse the effects of stress on my body and on my level of happiness. I thoroughly recommend the book for itself and also an as adjunct to the course.
