A Memorable Read
9 August 2019
I struggled with the life the author led as she grew up in both African and England and I felt sad that the love she desperately wanted from her parents, her husband and his family was never really forthcoming. In sharp contrast, I am in awe of the life she did fashion for herself and impressed with the many things she found that gave her joy.
Memoirs are not stories to be fashioned to afford the reader closure, they follow a script that can't really be altered. Thus the truths never uncovered and regrets never shared make this an honest, poignant and worthy read.
