Clever and Witty
15 December 2013
"Extremely England" by James N. Roses is clever, witty, and very funny at times. I love the author's sarcastic look at the British society and all the fun twists he put in the plot. It's a light-hearted tale of absurdism, hypocrisy, and convoluted politics.
If you have ever lived in a country that held any kind of elections - and that's a lot of countries! -- you will enjoy this book. One of my favorite lines in the book is a description of the moment when one of the characters "saw Bobby's hope of promotion disappear in a big cloud of Arabic smoke."
I really enjoyed all the clever and funny turns of phrase in this book. Very entertaining.
