Don't be fooled by the price or the fact that it has less than 100 pages. This has been the most useful book on DSLR photography I have read yet. It gives a good explanation of the major concepts in a straight forward simple way. If you are just starting out and sick f taking photos in auto mode on your camera this is invaluable.
Tom cuts through the technical speak with frank, yet entertaining explanations on all the funny numbers and dial options on a DSLR. Sit down with a pen and paper for a couple of hours and you'll fully understand the technical jargon behind taking a good photo.
This was the ideal starter book for me. Although my Samsung camera is a bit different to the specific cameras mentioned in the book, I was able to find all the the settings once I knew what to look for. The amount of information was just right for a newbie, giving me a quick and easy to understand grasp of the first and most important things I need to understand. Once I have had a chance to put into practice the things I have learned here, I might consider a more advanced book, one that would probably intimidate me just now. Highly recommended for beginners.
