A good read though as an acupuncturist I found her comments about acupuncture to be one-sided. Evidence-based research suits western medicine not eastern medicine. Not everything can be proved by western science and that doesn’t mean it doesn’t work.

The introductory chapter itself has more than enough examples to trigger an Aha (or a qualitative leap of consciousness) in people suffering from a serious illness and this could be sufficient to kick start their immune system and begin the healing process. Dr. Rankin homes-in on the root cause of what might be referred to as day-to-day ailments and attributes them to a prolonged stress response. In her book she explains why chronic stress has such a negative effect on ones biology and follows it up with various mechanisms that could help alleviate the problem.
