First part of the story was like a drainer. Oh someone with no feelings? Ugh... I stopped reading but thought well it has to get better because I doubt it can get worse.
So after pages of reading and thinking to my self why oh why... I found some good parts. Some steamy parts and some really wicked teasing. Like great kissing and fondling, oh yes. Yes yes... Then no no No NO! That kind of tease. Look I screamed at the book just do it already! I don't care for sexual stories. I feel as I have read the other stories from this one. I in fact know I have. This one..... Nope I will never read it again. I will remove it from my collection.
It had great potential for sure. But seemed to lack the lustre to make it great. Don't recommend this one. Would not pay for it. Enough said.
A deliciously dark and delightful paranormal, young adult, romance tale . Jessica Sorensen hits the mark with "Shattered Promises." I sat back and relaxed and consumed this one. Jessica is such a creative and masterful writer, her characters are exquisitely revealed, talk about character dymanics! They make you fall in love over and over again, breathlessly.
"Vampires, werewolves, fairies, keepers, forseers, angels, demons, death walkers" yes I agree she has one too many supernatural creatures but simultaneously, its her crazy imagination and she is bringing to frutition the products of that crazy overworked creativity and it seems to work. She literally shoves them down our throats and I am not gagging (pun intended), I enjoyed it wholeheartedly. Gemma's character is so flawed and almost every young girl can relate to her, the author managed to captured the essence of this and falling in love- the risky kind of life-threatning love- which is something dark and mysterious and one young girls like exploring while reading fiction. Jessica created this risky supernatural world, filled with romance, love, entertainment and eroticism and I am craving for more.
This book was really hard to get into at first, but once you understood what was happening things fell into place. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about how Gemma started to find out the truth about herself and who she should trust. I love how the mythical creatures have been added to the story. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
