The first thing I thought halfway through the first story, was how it evoked the same feelings as The Bodysurfers by Robert Drewe. Comparisons between the two are unfair, as much as I want to say this feels like a feminine Drewe, writing in the same rich vein of Australiana, the voice is completely unique. I really enjoyed these short stories, the yearning for the summer sun, the innocence lost and the melancholy for the loves that can't love us back. Five stars.
