This book is the most wonderful of all the Dean Koontz books, and there are many to choose from but this one captured my heart many years ago. A MUST read for dog lovers! I re-read it regularly and I laugh and cry the same as I did that very first time. A tale mostly about love, with the best cast of characters I've ever read. The only disappointing thing about this book is that they don't exist anywhere but inside my head and heart.
What can I say about this book? To sAy it’s amazing, to say it brought me to tears to say that it raised me so high I could see clearly, feel everything would not be enough. Thank you Dean and all that inspires you.
This was a fun read, touching on some interesting themes (overcoming the past, love and redemption, the dangers and rewards of unfettered institutional/scientific progress) and dominated by an immediately likeable golden retriever called Einstein. Elements of thriller, horror, a splash of sci fi I guess - engaging throughout and with plenty of heart. Some cheesy stuff, sure - but I’m okay with that if you are. My favourite Koontz book (at least so far).
Dean Koontz at his best, compelling storyline and beautiful characters, A love story between a man a woman and a golden retriever and the constant threat of the Outsider and discovery by the authorities or the hitman
This is my absolute favorite Dean Koontz book, it was powerful, beautiful, and had just the right amount of light and shade. A highly unique idea, the characters were well rounded and interesting, and the dog will make you fall in love with this tail (pun intended)
Great read hated to put it down. So well written and the idea of this wonderful intelligent dog and his antics throughout the book i was completely taken in by the whole premise. This book has it all horror fear love humour i am sorry it had to finish. This should be a must for all readers who truly love a good story.
This was the first Koontz book I ever read, and I have read it many times over the last 10 years. It is one of my favourite books, and even after multiple readings it remains a brilliant book, that propels the read through its thrilling pages. The characters are so real and memorable, and Einstein himself is the dog we all hope to own. The story draws you in, pulling you towards its ultimate climax at a rapid pace. This is the book to judge all Koontz books by. I highly recommend to all readers.
Dean Koontz, , thank you for the rue gift that lies between the pages of this indescribable, page turning, emotionally charged work from your amazingly talented mind. A book of fact or fiction , ld like to think that there's some truth especially at the outcome.
