To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Broke after a year of use. Don’t recommend this at all, wasn’t too bad initially however no it is not giving any output. If you do make the mistake of purchasing this make sure you register the warranty
The power able contact in the back is flimsy, badly installed to the unit. Any little movement disconnects it from the unit with a loud pop sound when it reconnects. Apparently this problem has been around for a while as other users have complained about it. I returned the product and ordered it again hoping the next delivered product will have the issue solved. I have also chatted with Amazon CA staff and they promised to contact the manufacturer to correct this huge quality problem. Hope they have done so.
Bought this to connect my drum machine and synthesizers but now realise why it is so cheap, The headphone jack is faulty as there seems to be a loose connection meaning that I need to keep twiddling the headphone plug into the slot so just I can hear the output correctly. I'm actually leaving a review now as I just turned in on and heard some static in my setup which made me wonder where it was coming from and yep you guessed it - its coming from the mixer. Even the device itself is poorly made - they can't even make it balance properly on itself without it leaning to one side. I only bought a Behringer mixer as I was using the U-Control before and never had any issues with it so thought I'd go with them again but now really regret it. Spend a bit of extra cash and get yourself a better quality mixer! Giving it 2 stars as it does the job but very poorly and have experienced a lot of issues.
I hate to give this mixer a two star rating, however, there are several problems with it that I have been unable to overcome. I bought it to use as a USB interface for audio recording with my Thinkpad L512 running Windows 7 Professional and Audacity. I want to run a click track, then play a rhythm guitar track, then sing a song to the guitar track, then sing a harmony track. I have successfully done this very thing using a Behringer UB802 mixer, a Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS Notebook interface and a Thinkpad R51E running Windows XP Professional.
The first problem is there is no manual available for the mixer. I don't mean a paper manual is not included with the mixer, I mean there is no manual available. I addressed this problem with Behringer technical support and this is the reply I received:
"Now, as for question concerning BEHRINGER'S justification for shipping a unit without a full manual, I, unfortunately, do not have an answer to that. The only statement that I can make is that BEHRINGER is currently in the process of completing this manual, which will posted on the BEHRINGER website as soon as it is ready. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you."
Second, you cannot record through the USB interface while listening to a previously recorded track and hear both yourself and the previously recorded track (while listening through the headphone output of the mixer). You can listen to a previously recorded track and record at the same time, however, you cannot hear yourself in the mix. When I addressed this with Behringer technical support, I was told I would have to monitor though the computer's headphone port. This added such a delay that it was impossible to record with accurate timing and I was unable to adjust the latency settings to compensate for this delay.
The mixer seems well made and individual recordings made with it were just fine, but I expected to be able to record myself onto multiple tracks through the USB interface. If this cannot be done, the USB interface seems useless.
Update May 2, 2013:
I returned the Behringer Xeynx Q1002USB mixer and ordered a Behringer U-Control UCA222 USB audio interface. I was up and overdubbing in less than five minutes!
