This is a concise well written exploration of some crucial and vexing questions. Firstly, how come human beings have a sense of right and wrong about issues and behaviour. Secondly, how come these views differ between individuals. Thirdly, how come liberals and conservatives, in the American context, differ so much about quite basic questions. And following on from that, are there any ways in which liberals and conservatives might come closer together or at least understand each other better.
Basically a former ground breaking book supported by good evidence, from an up to date social psychologist. I found its story convincing and enlightening, and have added a lot of its insights to my understanding of both politics and religion. Anyone interested in understanding the below surface factors in the latter subjects should have a knowledge of this book.
