This book is a wonderful story for all to enjoy. It hits a cord with the ‘inner’ alcoholic I occasionally feel I may become. It takes me back to days of old when insecurities were abound and joking was easier than sincerity. Thumbs up Fi. You’ve lived, loved and been cherished. You have a fantastic sense of self and your humour is great.
I'm traumatised to have finished this amazing book. I don't know what I'm going to do without it. I tried to read it slowly to soak up every word but sometimes I couldn't discipline myself because I wanted to find out what was coming up next and I'd read through some bits very fast. I learnt about Catholics, big families, and Australians. I hope I never see Fiona in the street because I'll just run up to her and hug her. She's amazing. I'm so grateful for the beautiful experience I've just been through.
