This is not a tale of daring do but the personal story of a remarkable woman. Rimington recounts in a very matter of fact way of the challenges she faced and the hurdles she overcame in her Civil Service career. She shines a light on significant world events in the 20th century. I am sure readers will see the the resolve and dedication she brought to her work.
A very interesting read. Stella Rimington has well documented her time at MI5 and also the added perspective of being a woman in what has always been very much a man's world. It is good to read this in conjunction with her fictional books about Liz Carlyle, an MI5 agent in the modern and changing world of security.
