I gave it a five star rating as it was a great read Storm Boy is a young child of 10yrs old he finds a pelican that he saved He was called Mr Percivil that was his friend Mr Percervil saved some sailors out in a storm so the sailors said about putting Storm Boy to school In the meantime Mr Percivil tried to stop hunters from shooting birds and got shot himself and a few days later he died and buried him in the sandhills and ended up going to school It was a great short read the movie years ago was good and sad
I read this book because I had taken my granddaughters to see the film. The book is so beautifully written and evkes the landscape of the Coorong so well. Its message of sanctuary is just as relevant today.
I had always heard of this book, but only read it just recently. What a delightful story! It took me through many emotions, but overall it is heartwarming and I have been recommending it to everyone I come accros!
This classic Australian novel by Colin Thiele is set in South Australia and is a moving portrayal of a young boy and his pelican, Mr. Percival. It is a wonderful story, heart-wrenchingly sad but very beautiful. It is a coming of age story that will break your heart into a million pieces but it will put you in touch with what is precious in this life.
