Even though the cultural examples that she uses are of an era that has passed the theory and its application are more applicable today than when she wrote it. She has been able to highlight the cultural aspects of gender relations much like Gangstad and Wilson have done through their work on the evolutionary drivers of gender relations, both showing the same thing but from different angles.
It’s a hard hitting book with some astute observations, which is why I gave it 3 stars, however if you’re a guy and you’ve been stuck on the receiving end of this kind of treatment, there’s books you could read, I’d rather recommend, like Robert Glover: No More Mr Nice Guy, James Altucher, Azula Altucher: The Power of No; and/or if you still kind of want to attract a woman again: Mark Manson’s Models. These could help pull you out of your own resentment, regret and righteous indignation and into your own life instead of, I don’t know, bitterly wallowing in negativity and righteous rage, arguing with other bitter, angry people in front of your PC.
This book is (much like the Red Pill/Blue Pill/MGTOW trip) as, if not more toxic than the feminism, crybully political correctness/ negative, painful experiences with women that lead us here.
This book can make you a bit smarter, like the Coded/Decoded section, which is what I was looking for, but I can mostly see it either justifying wasting more years in frustration and anger and attracting more of it, or even justifying the ugliest, narcissistic PUA behaviour
I’ve spent enough time in the problem, I’d rather seek solutions
I can see why feminist hate this book. Every guy should read this for an insight into the female psyche. Reading this book helped my sanity in a world gone mad with unacknowledged bias against men - the understanding of which is having so many men check-out of society. Brilliant and funny.
Well researched and well written. I read this after reading feminist literature to get a balanced perspective. Essential reading for anyone who wants to know more about modern men in a very aggressive feminist world.
