My absolute favourite vegan gravy, this is quick and easy to whip up and lump-free if you follow the instructions. We always have one open in the pantry and a backup in storage.
It has a very classic, savoury gravy flavour, isn't overly salty if you add a little extra mix in to prepare a thicker gravy. You can make it in a saucepan or mix the powder and required water in a bowl and toss it into a frying pan to thicken up with whatever you're cooking.
Great on chips and roast vegetables! As a vegan, I can't say what it tastes like with actual meat, but I've had it with the following mock meats: roasts, BBQ sausages, crumbed chicken and fried chicken.
Throw your desired amount of gravy powder into a saucepan of cold water, mix well, and then blast the heat (I go straight to rapid boil, high, HIGH, H I G H heat, because I hate standing over a stovetop, I've got better things to do). When the mixture thickens, your gravy will be at its best when the colour of the gravy changes to a deep brown. If you need to add more mix into your bubbling gravy goodness, because it's not thick enough for your preferences or you want a larger quantity, take some of the powdered mix and stir it into cold water before you add it to the cooking gravy. This prevents lumps. We don't want lumps. Once the water is boiling, your gravy will be done in minutes. Enjoy!
Best ever , I usually use the kalko stock cube & veg water and add black pepper , all the family use it , I've tried lots of different ones and spent lots of money trying different ones but this is far the best, wish they done it in larger boxes
