Liked the book, and especially like Joseph Flynns writing. My only gripe with this particular book is what I perceived as an unlikely plot: a whole bunch of teenagers going to participate in a secret rock concert, with the aim of ALL committing suicide en-masse. Perhaps I'm out of touch with reality but I didn't think this was a possible REALISTIC scenario.
However, apart from this questionable scenario, the book was very readable and highly entertaining - as per standard Joseph Flynn writings.
Interesting name for a story containing a large group as the main plot. Lots of detail to set the scene for the main characters. And then continues after the the major plot is uncovered and a second story is developed with a conclusion to the satisfaction of the supporting hero's.
Being a long time musical hobbyist, the Strat on the cover of this book caught my eye immediately...it was a decent story, and you do get involved with the two main protagonists as the story progresses...two cops, basically on the ropes for different reasons, put together on a case they're probably not expected to have any success with....and, any more than that would be a spoiler. I found it to be an enjoyable crime story with well drawn characters.
Once again, Mr. Flynn has crafted a story that keeps you turning pages and caring about the characters. As always, my usual complaint is that his stories being such page turners, don't seem to last nearly long enough. NOTE to Joe: Keep these main characters for future novels, they belong together. To everyone else, buy this book!.
