OMG There are so many twists and turns in this I felt like I'd just gone through a spin cycle of my washing machine. Love, Lust, Regret, Family, manipulation and Feuds all seem to be entwined in this story. It's as much about ownership and wealth as it is about choosing to be with the wrong person and sacrificing ones self for love that seems to be out of reach. The characters are strong and absorb you into the tale. What makes a family? I think even the characters are asking that one. It becomes apparent that it takes more than plain biology and that love when given freely is more powerful than hate. I could hardly put this one down but the family would have starved otherwise. I've read all three books and it all lead to this, one amazing story that played out like a tv serial
The Blackthorne's and the Creeds have an old feud that dates back so far that none of the current generation knows the reasons why. In this story, The only Blackthorne daughter has secretly loved a so-called 'bad boy', who has had to fight for his life, both at home from his step-father and in public, due to the reputation that he's been labeled with. Her high-handed father tries to keep them apart, but some amazing truths come out, and the outcome is unexpected.
The book picks up where the previous book left off. For this reason I would recommend reading these books in sequence. The plot lines twist and turns, keeping the reader's attention. Some plot lines are solved, some are introduced, and the rest are advanced. While each book is a standalone, as a part of a series it is terrific.
