The author was able to introduce a new way of looking at the reasons why some ( most) people have a tendency to sabotage their success and happiness. Even though I have read many personal growth books in my life I found this book had a different approach to the matter and I am willing to give his many practical hints around awareness on when we are UPL a go :-)
Thank you to the author. This book revealed my biggest barriers in life and I’m really grateful to the author for sharing this treasure of wisdom with me. I’m lucky that I came across this book. I knew that I’m missing something and found my answers in this book. Thank you. Lots of love Rashi
I had to read this book in one sitting. I could not put it down. I've read thousands of books and this is up there in my top 5. Simplistic yet overwhelming when the holding back strategies I used were clarified and why. This book will be a life changer for me. 54 years of struggle and loss - GONE. I sabotage all the good and great things in my from jobs to relationships when they are going well. I skedaddle for fear they will discover my flaws. My biggest flaw is thinking I am flawed. Thank you Gay Hendricks and your beautiful wife too. I am going to be just like You.
This book is fantastically both simple and deep. It deserves a read through and then a re-read slowly. I think I will keep returning to it, as I recognise a lot of myself in its pages. I thoroughly recommend buying it if it's the only book you buy on self-limiting behaviours.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and took so much away from it. From early on in reading I was able to notice where I was 'upper limiting' myself, and have started to take action against it. It couldn't have come at better timing really, with me resigning from my job to focus on working in my zone of genius. A must read, and something I will be recommending to my clients!
There are two important dates in your life; when you were born and then when you work out why. This book certainly helps with the second of these. Highly recommend it for anyone who is still asking why.
If too much happiness or success makes you feel uncomfortable, take a look at this book. Gay Hendricks provides some useful insights into how and why we sabotage ourselves when things are going well, and what to do about it.
