I've had USB microphones that work better than this. I tried speaking into the mic in several spots and it sounded like I was whispering or like 10 feet away from the mic. Very disappointing but I could have gotten a dud. I might try this mic again later down the road.
I recommend the microphone itself but DO NOT ORDER THE MODEL WITH A CABLE. The Shure cable that came with this microphone got stuck in my interface (Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd gen) the first time I plugged it in. I still can’t get it out and am afraid I’ll break the interface, so it has rendered one of my two input ports unusable. The cable is low quality too and adds noise to recordings. I recommend buying this microphone by itself and ordering a higher quality cable separately.
I had to buy these because I had misplaced my Sennheisers! :( (but found them months later :D) The first time I used it I had issues with the on/off switch shorting out. Someone had told me to never by the Shures with a switch. The sound quality was not as awesome as my Sennheiser but was okay enough for the price. Ill tell you what though...I got a Shure Classic Super 55 for Christmas and IT ROCKS!! I would say that if you want a decent quality for a fair price, get this but without the on/off switch.
I have been a musician for 30+ years. Played all over the place, have a CD, etc... I have used SM58's years ago and just ordered a new one with a th On/Off switch. Well, the microphone is phenomenal but the on/Off switch is an utter joke. I cannot believe there is little to no resistance onthe slide switch, so odds are extremely high you will shut it off when playing live. Cant believe how bad the switch is....
No on/off switch, this mic is great but not too separate from others. I forget about the switch untill i got it. Not sure why no switch, i cant leave it on all times due to feedback and other unnecessary audio input
I wanted a Shure SM58 for my vocals in a band and knowing that they are so durable I thought buying a used one would be fine and save a few bucks. Unfortunately, the used one was obviously a counterfit, more than likely a new counterfit. I'm currently requesting a return through Amazon. Since it was not sold directly by amazon, the return is not as smooth already as I would have liked. I'm hoping to hear back soon from the seller. I would caution anyone considering a used one, to reconsider and definitely watch the videos on the net about the differences between real and fakes. Best of luck.
