What a endearing story Where the Forest Meets the Stars is I loved this book I couldn't put it down. The authors description of the characters how she brought them together was wonderful. The 2 main characters in the story were delightful & how they all healed each other through their relationship with the little girl from another planet!? I was really pleased with how the story unfolded & the ending was truly a work of art. If you like a story with suspense healing love & a few tears please don't pass this book by.
Such a beautiful story. I was enthralled from the very beginning and could hardly put this book down. The narrative sweeps you up in its magic and doesn't let go until the very end. It was a wonderful rollercoaster of emotion that only a masterful story teller can evoke in a reader. I don't want to spoil the story by writing about it. Every now and then you encounter a book that should remain a mystery until you start reading and allow the story to unfold deliciously before you. This is such a story - what a diamond!
The central story of a little girl called Ursa had me enthralled. Add to that several, equally spell binding, side stories and I couldn't put this book down. I especially loved the way that Glendy wove in complex issues of modern society and showed us how to respond to others in a more sensitive and caring way.
It wasn't really what I was expecting from the blurb - I read a lot of magical realism so I think I was subconsciously expecting a surrealist twist. Very engaging with depth to the characters. It touches on some very difficult issues without being very heavy so is a good read, just not my usual taste.
It’s been a really, really long time since I read a book which made my heart sing. This story is so beautifully written. So funny in parts and so heart wrenching in others. But it ends just perfectly so.
Captivating, whimsical book. I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. Great individual characters woven together by an imaginative brilliant magical child. This the first book have read from this author and I certainly will be looking out for more by her.
This is very enjoyable. It appears to be intelligent scifi but is it? You are never quite sure. Truth does not appear until final chapters but it does not matter which way it goes; still holds your attention.
