Some authors are consistently wonderful (Amanda Quick, Kathryn Le Veque) others have highs and lows. Lauren Chase wrote one of the funniest HRs ever 'Tempting Juliana'. It is such a great book that some of her works, such as 'Lily', seem a bit insipid in comparison.
Lily is a story about the bond between sisters. Lily's sister Rose is in love with family friend Rand. Rose begs Lily to help her to win him. Unfortunately Rand has been hankering after Lily for four years. Despite her noble intentions Lily begins to admire Rand, but is determined to stay away for the sake of her sister. The real strength of this book is Lily's eccentric and warm family. They make 'Lily' humorous and wise. It's a really nice book. But if you want to see this clever author at her very best, read 'Tempting Juliana'.
We are now taken away from the Chase Family yet still linked to it by way of Lily, being a sister-in-law. Lily is now brought into this family and has come into the view of Rand. Bit it's not until four years later does anything become of this attraction. Lily now is 20, and Rand is brought back in by way of becoming Godfather to on of Violets twin babies, Lily also becoming Godmother. Rand realises that his attraction to Lily four years earlier is still strong if not stronger, it doesn't take long before Rand realises he has fallen in Love with Lily, and visa versa. Can things go completely smooth for these two before they become united in marriage. Absolutely not. But I will leave this here so you can take this amazing journey yourself.
