Loved it. It’s just so much fun trying to work out the true bits. And the characterisation of Hawthorne is brilliant - so interesting that Horowitz uses the “real person” aspect of him to excuse writing a racist homophobic hero - except you then keep remembering he’s not real. I keep finding myself shocked, then conciliatory - oh well I guess that’s who he is - and then shocked again. Also, the mystery is so clever. And thankfully No gratuitous violence, no sexual assault. And of course the Foyles references! Can’t wait for the next one.
