words cannot describe how much I fell in love with this book. I have been struggling on trying to find the right words, but no matter what I say, it would not do this book the justice it deserves. Adeline suffers from epilepsy, but she doesn't let her slow her down. While on a blind date, her guide dog Coco alerts her that she is about to have a seizure. she needs to get somewhere safe, but her blind date abandons her. Enter Dean, aka Crash. he exists Adeline to his for station across the street and the rest is history. Crash immediately knows that Adeline I'd his and will do everything to win her heart. This book had it all: action, romance, suspense. Susan Stoker knows how to make you fall in love with each core character and keeps you coming back for more
Adeline Reynolds hates her job and her boss even more. Sitting in a diner with a blind date that is going downhill fast, her service dog alerts her she is about to have a seizure.
Dean “Crash” Christopherson is on his lunch break at the same diner. He is blindsided by Adeline’s beauty, and bravery. Noticing something is off he goes to her and helps her.
The beauty of meeting “the one” for the first time. One of the best first dates ever. An alpha with a tender side. A heroine trying to live as close to a normal life as she can. An attraction that is undeniable.
It’s no secret I am a fan of Susan Stoker but she keeps putting out consistently good reads and this is just another one.
Great characters, good flow, enjoyed the dynamic between the H/h. Secondary characters were interesting and didn't distract.
Let's be honest, I love everyone one of Susan Stoker's books. I preorder each and everyone and will sometimes try and pre-order them two or three times. She is an amazing author, that brings you into her books and you don't want to leave. I love Shelter for Adeline, in fact once I read one in the series I have to reread the whole series to refresh my memory on all of the great characters. Thanks for all that you do for us Susan as a faithful Stoker Stalker, you ROCK!!!
I have read all of this authors books and I have to say I enjoyed all of them. This one doesn't disappoint. The story is about a fireman/paramedic that see a woman in a café looking like she needs help. The man she is with leaves her sitting there with her dog. He goes over and helps get her to a safe place for a seizure that is coming on her. The story is very romantic. I would recommend reading this one, and if you haven't read any of the authors other books do so.
Love this series and the related series. Susan Stoker has become one of my favorite authors. Just began this book and since I tend to buy several books at a time when I know it is a series I am enjoying, I did not notice that the back of this book cover is actually the storyline for the previous book Shelter for Elizabeth: Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes Series, Book 5, hence the 4 star rating.
Other than the fact that the back cover of the book I have gives the overview for the prior book, I did like what I actually read in this book. This is a series I have liked from the beginning. Looking forward to the next book in the series!
5.0 out of 5 starsSusan Stoker hit this out of the park...AGAIN! Perfect!!

This is the 7th book in Susan Stoker's Badge of Honor series. This book is about Dean (Crash) and Adeline. Susan Stoker always writes about real issues. In this story she has written about multiple personalities and also seizures.
In this story, Dean (Crash) is at a restaurant for lunch when he sees this beautiful woman who walks in...with a man. After a bit, he sees them having an argument and the man gets up and leaves. Dean sees his chance to go meet this woman. She tells him she is about to have a seizure, and he takes care of her right then and there. He takes her to a safe place and watches over her.
The story progresses from there and it is written so perfectly. It is well written with so much information about seizures. I learned a few things (like I always do when reading the books).
This story has all of the parts we love and expect in a Susan Stoker story. I just adored this story and the drama that ensues.
