I thoroughly enjoy the adventures of Lady Hardcastle and her companion Florence. The author describes the characters of "Upstairs and Downstairs " in yet another small village mystery. The story is full of fun and intrigue and I recommend these delightful stories to everyone.
Enjoying this series of a Whimsy-ish widow with a flamboyant girly sidekick in first decade of last century. This time they are dealing with a houseful of actors in the brand new enterprise of moving pictures. Appreciated seeing more of possible love interest increasingly appalled by Lady Hardcastle's penchant for violence, speed and physical exertion.
Another great in this series, love the banter between the leading ladies and the often very witty comments by both of them. Great for the times, just shows how money and position gave women more freedom then many others, even in the period of very limited freedom for women full stop.
I just love the plot in all these books. The way they are written and the terminology is just a joy to read. Just when you think you know who did it in this story you suddenly find you don't. A really good read. All the characters are in their own way quite endearing and the way the main characters work with the police is really entertaining. I just wish there were lots more of these books.
I really like this series. I enjoy the way the two main characters of Lady Hardcastle and her maid Flo interact and how their previous career as spies is gradually revealed throughout the books. So glad I found these.
Up to number 4! I really enjoy these books by T.E.Kinsey. Perfect english and great characters. Lady Hardcastle and Flo make for entertaining and at times very amusing reading. Will be purchasing Number 5.
