Here at last - but not as good
24 February 2016
I was so excited to get this book downloaded yesterday after pre ordering it. I have started it already. After waiting a year for it I had to go back and re read the last chapter of No 5 to keep up with it all. It all came back to me easily. If you haven't already done so then you need to read the previous books in the series in order as each ends on a cliff hanger and carries over to the next book. The next and last one is due out in November so not as long to wait.
I have finished the book and have to say I was disappointed with it. I have changed from the excitment of getting it and giving it a 5 star review straight away, before I had read it, to a 3 star. It appears that he wanted to finish it in a hurry after perhaps having writer's block. As other reviewers have said he skipped alot of detail in what I thought would be good story lines. It became a bit disjointed. It was almost as if he got someone else to write the 2nd half of the book. He spent too much time on the 2 crocks in the story and their dealings. Virginia Fenwick story was just ridiculous and Seb and Samantha's daughter Jessica was such a precocious little madam and only 10 years old. Even the "cliff hanger" ending was not exciting enough. I will read the last in the series, when it come out, just so I have the complete story
