We must remember that Hillary still has political ambitions So, it comes as no surprise that her autobiogtraphy is a litany of mea culpas and 20/20 hindsight. Well written; Worth reading - if only to say you have!
I chose this rating because it ENGULFED the reader into being a part of every decision and action determined by Hillary,Obama and the US State Department. One could easily identify the various conflicts taking place e.g. Syria;Afganistan since 2000 and be aware of the tough decisions that had to be made. I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend this book.
As a foreigner looking into the political life of an American politician who is obviously preparing for her greatest ever elevation I found this book a revealing look into her qualifications. I personally would be releaved to see her as president of the USA as her book reveals the depth of understanding of foreign policy that has been sadly lacking in recent years. Politics in the US is obviously a factor in the reviews here so far and it is interesting that the reviews I have read see understanding foreign policy as a minor issue and her delving in them a distraction. As an Australian though sharing a strong alliance with the USA in a number of areas including global security I need a head of state that understands there is more to the global community than what springs from inside US borders.
Despite her Presidential Campaign being 6 Million $ in debt the President Elect ask her to be Secretary of State. She accepts and feels that the United States needs to repair its image in Asia. She goes first to China and then Burma's issues are addressed. Insight into other countries' thought processes and how they exist. Insightful.
