I agree with another reviewer that the history of money alone would have been worth this books price. I never thought that I would ever enjoy reading a book about monetary economics but.. here we are. This book explains why fiat money is doomed to failure. It explains why the rich get richer. It also offers a clear explanation on why Bitcoin could be humanities answer to the corrupt political and financial systems. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
This book won’t get you lost in the weeds with techno-babble. While the technology behind Bitcoin is indeed fascinating, it doesn’t really tell the full story as to why Bitcoin has any value at all, let alone why it has pierced the public mind the way it has. This book was the first I’ve read that clearly and succinctly puts forward the case for why Bitcoin has value in today’s world, what the properties of a desirable money are, and what the features of Bitcoin are that make it so desirable. If you’ve heard arguments for and against Bitcoin, but are undecided as to what you think about it yourself, this book will present some amazing facts that may complete the puzzle. The book certainly isn’t a sales pitch for BTC, and it touches on the negative traits of Bitcoin too. But well worth your time.
