Okay, but could be better

Bought this book as it was recommended for people who love dystopian world stories - Hunger Games, Divergent etc.
The premise of the book - male v female, is interesting and topical, but I don't think it was really explored or fleshed out enough. The story and characters were a bit two-dimensional for me. I found the story quite slow and it took a while to really get in to, though the last third of the book moves along at a better pace. The ending was pretty abrupt though, and obviously designed to get people to keep reading the series.
Unfortunately for me this book didn't live up to my expectations. I don't care enough about the characters or story to read the later books in the series.
