5.0 out of 5 starsThe Other Side of the Story
19 March 2017
After 50 years of being gainfully employed in the aviation industry, if I have learnt one thing it is that there are always two sides to a story. Like a lot of my fellow aviators, when I first heard of the disappearance of Flight MH370, I thought – ‘Damn, not another pilot suicide’. However, James’ well researched book has reminded us that we haven’t heard the other side of this story. There are enough anomalies to the suicide theory to support that James may be correct in suggesting that the crew were probably doing what they were trained to do, and were attempting to get the aircraft back to a suitable airfield before being overcome by whatever was occurring on that flight deck.
The only possibility of finding out what really occurred is to find the wreckage – it may well hold the secret that will prevent future aircraft losses – and we owe that to the passengers and crew whose lives will be saved by this knowledge.
In the meantime, the industry should take notice of James’ suggestions – every one of them is worthy of consideration.

3.0 out of 5 starsWell researched and explains the evidence brilliantly.
14 October 2017
A well researched book that takes technical aviation concepts and explains them clearly, neatly and succinctly. Its a great read regarding the crash but also gives excellent insight into the operation of modern airliners. The background to some of the nutty theories is humorous whilst being edifying regarding some of the opportunistic behaviours surrounding these events. The research and thought that the author has put into the book is obvious and his analysis of the evidence is top notch. With nearly 40 years of airline experience in cockpits , management and safety, I can confirm that the authors descriptions of pilots, the equipment they operate and the processes they use is spot on. I commend this book to professionals and lay persons alike.

5.0 out of 5 starsFinally a MH370 perspective from someone with relevant experience!

A fascinating read from an author well placed to provide comment. The book itself is well structured, providing recaps at the end of each chapter. Each of the many theories aired by the media in the aftermath of the aircraft's disappearance has been dissected by the author, with strong fact based rebuttal. He makes his own case for an alternate, and very plausible scenario. I look forward to reading this again when (and I do mean when) the aircraft is finally located.

This book explains the knowns and unknowns without the incomprehensible bureaucratic language, and also avoids the unhelpful dramatic flourishes favoured by others. This book works for a non-pilot. It lays out a plausible hypothesis and the further testing and research to prove it . The 777 is Boeing's future flagship . If there is an undiscovered flaw, we need to know about it -now.

5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent analysis of crash of Mh 370
15 April 2017
Format: Kindle EditionVerified Purchase
The book written by an experienced commercial pilot provides a pilot's insight into how pilots think. This insight is then carefully and logically applied to what could of happened to MH 370. The book concludes with a series of recommendations to the airline industry. As a passenger I sincerely hope they are adopted. An excellent book and highly recommended.

A great book by a very knowledgeable author. I couldn't put this down. The facts are hard to refute and James really pulls in a lot of information and backs up his assumptions and theories quite well.

An excellent, well researched and documented and well written analysis: clears away the fog and points to a way forward amidst what is otherwise all bewilderment and despair. Now let’s find that plane !

This was my first experience reading what I thought would be filled with technical terms however James managed to somehow clearly explain his point of view in easy to read language. Was captivated from the beginning and read it in one day. Looking forward to the next book James!

Really liked this brilliant check list with it’s recaps - the first plausible and rational explanation I have read and justified vindication for the pilots and their families.

Very enlightening book, obviously written by a pilot with years of experience who has clinically and forensically determined the most logical answer to the tragedy.
