God has used the ministry of R|M in my life in such profound ways! I always knew that having a relationship with Jesus changed every area of life, but practically in the mundane areas, did it? Did it help with my constant battle against anger and frustration? I knew it must, but how? Motherhood was hard!
How does Jesus fit into the day to day struggles of another load of laundry, so much mess, constant sibling arguments and another crying child? It was repetitive, and dare I say boring and meaningless at times? This book has been so helpful as I work through these questions, breaking down the Gospel into it's four parts. It gives a framework to look through life - Creation, Fall, Redemption and Consummation. Laura and Emily articulate well how each of these aspects give us a lens to look at the struggles we face. This book walks through how looking at the Gospel gives purpose and shows us our true dentity. How when we look at the Gospel we see where and how to find hope and joy. It gives us an eternal perspective, that though brokenness and sin may prevail right now, it wont forever! Days are hard, there is brokenness and pain, but this is not all there is! One day He will make things right again, and today He has given us Jesus who can give us all we need for life and godliness.
Through this book and their podcasts, it has renewed in me a passion and love for Gods word, because it is so essential!! Knowing and meditating on Gods word can change my prone to anger and frustration self, to one that pours out love. There is so much more to these little years! They are not meaningless but actually slowing doing something in my heart, making me more like Jesus. Only by Gods grace!
So if you are soon to be a mum, a mum of little kids or big kids, or ministering to mums...read this book! Even if your not a mum, I think Laura and Emily articulate well how the Gospel comes alive and applies to all areas of life!
