This book offers an exceptional selection of authentic German recipes. Unfortunately, the index is an absolute mess. I’m yet to find a recipe listed on the correct page which, given the size of this volume, makes using this book very frustrating.
Some recipes are laughable. Take Sauerkraut. Recipe then informs you the ingredients are 1.5 pound of sauerkraut, bacon etc. Basically its a reheating and serving instruction not a recipe...Fail. I'm returning it.
