This was a very funny read at the same time as being thought-provoking about how physics and science are (well, duh) all around us everyday and can help us make good decisions. Whilst some of the questions are wildly outlandish, all of them are really interesting - I particularly liked the calculation of whether Star Wars' The Force could be used to power our homes. Love the diagrams.
I believe most of us would benefit from a greater tendency to see patterns and sciences operating around us. For example, there have been floods here recently, and people doing things like driving into floodwaters (where they can't see submerged objects), or going 100Kmph through deep puddles (apparently untroubled by the idea of totally losing traction and aquaplaning into oncoming traffic) could really benefit from thinking a bit more about how physics predicts some disastrous outcomes!
I am really enjoying this book and would give it five stars if I could read all the comics on my kindle. It seems that some of the comics are too small, so that when I click on them, the 'zoom' button does not appear. I am using a Kindle Oasis and I hope Amazon can fix this.
Absolutely love this book, so much fun to read and I am impressed by the amount of work the author went to in able to answer all the "crazy/funny/I want to know " questions. So pleased I bought it. Anyone that likes science and who have always wanted to know the answer to many questions that they always thought about but did not know who to ask will love this.
This is a totally amazing book that is jam packed with intelligent humour and scientific answers to random questions. It's a must read for people that like humour and science and random stuff combined. 😋
