Have followed a plant-based diet for many years, I was intrigued as to how this way of eating could be followed using Keto principles. This is an excellent book for anyone wanting information on how to achieve this but sadly, I don't think I could give up roots vegetables and all the delicious fruits so freely available in the area where I live, especially in favour of eating more eggs. I've also read too much about the health benefits of legumes to toss them out and I was also put off by the suggestion that drinking bone or fish broth is more or less a requirement. The book itself is very well-laid out, informative and beautifully written. Some of the recipes look delicious and I will certainly be trying them but as stated, Ketotarian is not for me. I prefer Dr Joel Furhman's approach based on his Eat to Live book.
As an ex-University lecturer for Naturopathic, Nutritional students I would highly recommend this book. It is a fantastic balance with abundant choices to keep people motivated to follow the keto diet but to enjoy more variety of plant-based choices to stay on track. Christine Gugiatti ND BHSc
