To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The book starts out great, with lots of action and danger. Then Vicky the heroine is mind-jacked and taken to a bar where she unknowingly causes a lot of problems. So she's banned from the bar. Later she goes back to the bar to explain and she's still banned. Then she goes to a different bar and tosses out an unruly guy. Later she goes to a strip bar to distract her mind-jacker. Later still she goes to the bar she was banned from and is unbanned. By this time any hope in the reader of Vicky doing something non-bar related vanishes and so the author, to keep the reader interested, solves a bunch of major plot points but with no fighting. Finally realizing that a demon-killer heroine should have be killing some demons, the writer rushes Vicky into several brief, frantic battles that come out of nowhere and are over just as quickly.
