It's always nice to have an author that delivers dependable cheerful prose. Ms. Smith delivers a tale of the days leading up to a wedding she is not happy to attend. With her classic southern charm she carries the reader through the emotional ride with humor and a critical eye on her own behavior--reminding the reader of her own vulnerabilities.
I really enjoyed this book just like I've enjoyed other Haywood Smith books. It was a little confusing in the beginning because it kept going back & forth from the present to the past; however, it was still worth reading. The ladies in the book are something else!!
I enjoyed the book because of the ages of the main characters. They have rich life experiences and overcome life's challenges......sometimes in a silly immature way. Fun to read and wonder what I would have done. I am not as brave. This was a satisfying read.
This is a delightful story of a group of friends making wedding plans for one of their daughter's. However the daughter just happens to be marrying her dad's best friend. Interesting and fun to listen to.
Haywood Smith writes like I speak & think. Her novels move, never a slow moment. Her books catch me from the first word. I was born and raised in Buckhead so her stories also bring back such wonderful memories.
