Matilda has an extrodinary mind for a 5 year old. she can times big numbers together and spell hard words. But her parents dont pay much attention to her. Then when they send her to school she doesn't expect a principle as muscly as a rhino.
A hilarious story of a girl with mind of a scientest. i loved it the whole way througe.perfect for most ages. thete are sweet to Monstrous characters to laugh about. all jamed together to creat a heart warming story with a happy ending. all from Rould Dahls imagination. I think tht the only problem is that it may be a little frightning for youngeer kids and there is not very nice name calling. But anyway altogether entertaining! wish i could give ten stars! 5 it is!
I like the characters Miss Honey and Matilda in this story, I like Miss Honey because she kind and caring not like Miss Truchbull and l like Matilda because she is smart, cheeky, brave and modest. I think this story is very thrilling and unpredictable. (Rachel Li, seven years old)
This is tailored for more sophisticated readers than some of Dahl's other works (Mr. Fox, James) but my advanced 6 year is still getting great joy out of it. Because some of the language is obscure it's a good one to read to/with your child to explain things along the way. We alternate reading pages together and I explain lots along the way no matter who's reading. But he loves it!
matilda was an extraordinary book. i loved itf and spent everyh minute i could reading it. i loved all the characters and have no idea how roald dahl came up with such a fascinating book. it is wonderful and i am sure it will suit any type of reader anywhere
Never has it been more believable to go on a magical journey through a child's eyes. Possibility is reachable, adults are guardians and can also be terrifying monsters. This incredibly written book tells the story of a young girl who triumphs against all odds and ends up living the beautiful life she says always longed for.
This is a book that can be enjoyed by young children and adults alike. I read it because I heard that a musical based on the book was about to come to Sydney, and I wanted to know the story. The characters are really well drawn, even without the pictures through the book, they are easily imagined as they will be portrayed on stage. Loved it.
ok I will admit I`m an adult. This is one of the few Roald Dahl books I had not read as a child. What a beautiful story. I loved Matilda from the first page. Is it possible for Roald Dahl to write a boring book? I think not.
