I am in utter awe of the strength and fortitude of such a young girl in times of such despair and horror. I did not learn about Anne Frank at school.and that is a sad shame. Her name and memory should be a part of all learning within all schools. Anne Frank is a hero for all of us. God bless her and all that have ever suffered the injustices of this life.
Wish I had read this before visiting Amsterdam and her house. The diary itself is raw. There are bits of it I found tedious to read as a thirty-something-year-old man t there are others which provide great insight into what it must have been like as a Jew in counties occupied by the Nazis.
This book was amazing, fascinating and a sad ending. The reality of the war behind a wall is hard to imagine as a girl of the 2000's and how Anne and her family and friends must have felt not being able to go outside in the fresh air.
