To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Stan was definitely the poor cousin to Netflix when it started here in Australia. Both technically and in content. However, in the last year STAN appears to have come of age both technically and in content. I have one minor quibble technically: cannot change the size of the sub-title ( you can with Netflix). Otherwise, content is now pretty good and for Rugby Union fans the coverage of the recent rugby tests in the UK was very good. Also, unlike some other streaming services where there are difficulties getting an app and casting combination to work, Stan has several good platforms (Firestick, Fetch, etc).
Movies mostly from the 80s & 90s nothing of note, very few documentaries & TV shows again mostly 20 to 30 years old but you do find some absolute gems if your prepared to spend a lot of time checking odd ones out in the search but hey for $20 per month what do you expect - similar to Foxtel lineup but far,far better value.
Stan is pretty much the same as Netflix I reckon. Amazon prime is pretty good. M4ufree.fun is wonderfull if your looking for a movie as we all know the trifecta mentioned never have what your searching for.
I was pleasantly surprised with the Stan app on the Firestick TV. It is stable, robust, easy to use, and easier to navigate compared to both the iOS app, and competing streaming video apps built for other providers. The developers clearly gave careful though to the usability of the product, and it has been well tested as I have yet to see it crash or hang. Compared to using the Stan app on iOS and casting via WiFi and a Google device, it has been a pleasant experience.
