To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I wanted to give it a try so started looking for Jazz, found few lists, try to let them play but didn't like them much so tried to find other musicians but have trouble finding them or their songs. The songs it played where more what it wanted to play than what I wanted to hear, so started stopping it and then went back to my other music finding software, just to find there everything I wanted. All that happen in 2 days so pretty much the rest of the trial time didn't use it nor tried to use it. It simply isn't at the same level.
Like it because it gave me the ability to get the most out of my Echo Studio pair + Echo Sub. Amazon Music HD is not available in my country New Zealand. Would like it to be able to be selected as echo’s first port if call when requesting songs also multiple profiles would be good
3.0 out of 5 starsDeezer Premium HiFi Vs Amazon Music HD for Echo Studio
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 November 2020
I downloaded this app for my Amazon Fire Stick 4K which is synced up with my Echo Studio. Reason for download was because I wanted to compare Deezer's HiFi FLAC sound quality to Amazon's HD 3D music. I was disappointed but relieved I opted for the free trial to begin with because for £14.99 a month I would certainly not be satisfied. The sound just sounded as it normally does and does not offer the same 3D experience as Amazon Music does streaming through the Echo Studio. I'm not sure the reason for this, it could be that the Echo Studio is built only to provide the best experience when using Amazon Music or if Deezer are actually trying to sell a subscription for a service that is just not up to scratch with the Echo Studio.
If you're an Amazon Echo Studio owner than I strongly suggest you stick with Amazon Music subscription, it seems Amazon have been adding more 3D compatible songs over the past month. This is still a new service so be patience with the development of songs available.
1.0 out of 5 starsGood streaming service - shame the app doesn't work
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 May 2018
I like Deezer and use it on my phone, however despite having paid for the "Premium" service I found that the app only plays for 5 minutes on my Fire TV Stick then cuts out. It appears to be a bug/feature that the app doesn't interact with the Stick's screensaver settings so if you don't push any buttons on the remote for 5 minutes the screensaver kicks in and the music stops. Since the average album or playlist is well over 5 minutes long - some songs are longer than that! - it means the app is not able to function correctly without constant input from the user.
As a result I have cancelled my Deezer subscription. If there is a sensible solution to this I will resubscribe, but I haven't heard of one.
First of all, let me say that I like Deezer itself. I have a subscription to it & listen to it on my android phone & also on my shield TV (android based) and it works great.
However, on Amazon fire TV the app is atrocious. When music is playing, scrolling through looking for other music causes a clear distortion in the sound. How this got past QA I don't know. Also, you can't browse playlists that you haven't played before! Surely this should be standard stuff. The keyboard it uses for text input is just one line of characters, so typing in anything is laborious & long-winded. The app is slow & unoptimised.
It looks like this app needs a little bit of love from the developers. It's a shame, because spotify works well on fire TV, but I'd rather use Deezer due to spotify pandering to SJW politics.
I've been a paying subscriber to Deezer for some years now. This review is purely about this app and not the service itself.
Before downloading this app, I used to stream music so for it to come though my amplifier and speakers. And that worked well, but meant my iPhone or iPad couldn't be used.
The major flaw with this app is it doesn't stop the Fire TV from going to sleep after about 20 minutes. So, unless you're planning on listening to a handful of songs, this app is useless.
On the plus side, it does allow users to switch between profile if you have the Family upgrade. The downside to this is it doesn't remember which profile was last used, so defaults to the main one every time.
I could live with the user account issue, but the 20 minute cut off is not acceptable. If that got fixed, I'd give it four stars.
