It's ok. I never was a big Nintendo fan a a kid, I was more into Alex Kid and Sonic on the Sega. The games are OK, some aged more than others. More of a ornament than something you'd use after the first day. But retro stuff is nice sitting on a shelf.

I think it will take me a lifetime to get through these games, as I only find a few hours to play each week. I'm still on my first one, Super Metroid, which is awesome (I've previously only played some of the GameCube Metroid Prime in that series). Certainly seems a better investment than paying $500 to get a Switch and one game. You get an incredible number of single player classics for the price. The games I played when I was younger are great for the nostalgia and inner child, and then there's all those ones I missed the first time round. Due to the limitations of the system, all the games have that same lovely 'SNES feel' - the 16 bit soundchip, the graphical glitches, and the way you actually have to read the manual to get anywhere in each game (the official miniSNES website has all the original manuals in downloadable PDF form, which is great as you can just consult your phone when needed). The SNES was the first Nintendo console to embrace epic adventures, after the more casual entertainment provided by the NES (so many massive RPGs and scrolling platformers here), and you can also feel the excitement of the developers in being provided six buttons over the NES's two, and being able to port arcade games. If expecting multiplayer mayhem you may want to reconsider if buying solely for that purpose, as only a few of the games have a proper multiplayer: Mario kart and Street Fighter (competitive) and Contra (co-op), and obviously just two players. The save state option is pretty awesome, breathing new life into games like StarFox and others which didn't have an in-save option, although I do enjoy trying to beat Contra with my bro without using that luxury. Each time we attempt we get further in.
