I wanted it to end...
8 February 2020
I’m going to start by saying, I am a HUGE fan of Megan Brandy. I loved the boys of brayshaw series and fumbled hearts. So I already started this book, with high hopes.
Honestly, I didn’t enjoy it though. I felt myself rolling my eyes more often than not.
The book starts off with Demi immediately being paired with her ex friend, Nico. She talks bad about him, and talks up the antagonist, Alex.
Obviously this Alex is going to be the issue. So it goes well, Demi is a confident, smart, sassy all round, good chick. So I thought I’d be in for a treat.
The more it went on, the more I got frustrated. The things that annoyed me the most, were the hypocrisy.
The rest may contain spoilers.
The hypocrisy; him sleeping with different people, and expects her to get over it because ‘she’s the one he wants’. Yet she sleeps with someone TWO YEARS AGO and it’s the end of the god damn world, he literally doesn’t want to look at her because ‘he’s always wanted her. He never perused her?’ What’s worse, is she apologizes for it ??? The book went downhill for me. Even though they were high school, I would think they were more middle school students. All of them. I found the plot annoying and all their parental issues were annoying and almost caused my eyes to roll out of my eye sockets.
If you don’t mind the guy whoring around, yet expecting her to stay a virgin for him this may be the perfect book. If not, I wouldn’t recommend.
