A Breath of Fresh Air
18 November 2019
The day has FINALLY arrived and I am so darn excited!!! This story different from what I am used to reading from LJ Shen, but it was a breath of fresh air. First I tear up at the dedication, next, I tear up in the first couple of chapters... very much like most of this author's books, they always find their way into my heart early. I could not put this book down. I read it in literally every single spare second I had! I devoured every word, every emotion, every page... Gahhh. I didn't want it to end.
'Life is too short not to kiss the one you want.'
Let's chat about Mal! Oh my goodness, through this book my heart ached for him, for how much he went through and I just wanted to hug him and not let him go. I love him so much. He is so different to the 'Shen Men' I am used to. And although al of this author's heroes are amazing men, Mal is out in a league of his own.
Rory too had my heart aching for her. The connection between her and Mal was palpable. I could feel all their angst, their chemistry, I was just waiting for that BOOM and gosh did I get it!
I enjoyed the side characters in this book, well some more than others... Let's just say my heart didn't warm to two in particular **Hides** My aches for another. I laughed a fair few times in this book, I felt sad, I loved the idea of the notes as well. This book is magical and everything we need this winter! And it was the perfect book to read while I wait for Angry God!!! I am so looking forward to 2020!
