Deadly, missing students and more houses to complete the trials in. I loved it and the mysterious powers and intuition of Wild. With her ragtag group of mixed oddball students, it had me laughing and enjoying the mystery of what would happen next. As the story goes on, I'm curious about her childhood friend Rory and where he stands with Wild. And all the mysterious characters that are affecting the trial. I cant wait to read the next book.
I am really loving this series. The trials are amazingly written and they grab hold of you and keep you enthralled every step of the way. The characters are getting a bit more life in them and we see the team coming together more as a team.
Secrets, missing kids, plot twist and unicorns with wings is what is in store for you when you read this book. I definitely recommend it to everyone, seriously.
I love all of KF Breene’s work (she on my always buy list) and I’ve read a fair bit of Shannon Mayer as well. While the story of a teenager finding out magic exists and going to ‘magic school’ is a common one, hello Harry Potter, the authors manage to make the heroine someone you want to root for, with some interesting twists on the trope. Plus the trademark witty and snarky banter between the characters will definitely make me read the entire series.
Shadowspell Academy: The Culling Trials Book 2 by Shannon Mayer and K.F. Breene is another example why these two rock and make magic happen. These masters combine their talents and wove something that I could not put down. This book picks up where the first left off and it is a journey into the world that is so vivid you can imagine it. A world where magic and the unknown come together in the trials of young adults trying to find where they fit whilst battling to survive trials that would kill. This YA story is absolutely brilliant and just the right amount of quirky. As with the first book it is full of action and intrigue, mayhem and roller coaster rides where there is never a dull moment. When death knocking the humour of the characters will have you laughing out loud.
Wild and the unlikely group of misfits are back to battle the next installment of the Culling trials and the world where the supernatural beings not only exist but is the norm. Will they all make it through alive?
Grab a copy you will not be disappointed. I am anxiously awaiting the next one.
Once again Mayer and Breene set the pages alight telling us more about Wild and her comrades, who are becoming her family.
Wild’s secret is out as the team faces more of the trials. As they face each trial new hurdles are introduced and she becomes aware that other participants are being taken. When one of her own is kidnapped, Wild starts to investigate the disappearance with her team mates and an old friend.
Wild also has another challenge facing her....someone is tracking her.
