I didn't want this book to finish, but knowing there will be more Josie Quinn stories I am happy, I read the three books in 3 days couldn't stop didn't want to stop, as usual what you think will happen takes a turn then twists around and omfg it is really I had no idea it was ....... You can see where the relationship between Josie and Noah are heading but it is always about the crime and solving it, what a mind Lisa has to write 3 books as great as each other that is a gift in itself, going to check out more by this author, read these books in order so you will know who is who and the relationship and connection to Josie, just brilliant.
Wow! The best Josie Quinn book yet!! The first two books were really good, but this one just carried the story to a whole new level. Real page turner, couldn't put it down. Highly recommend you read the whole series
Josie Quinn is a police chief whose memories of an abusive childhood continue to trouble her. Her investigative skills are tested when human remains are located in the trailer park she grew up in. The sole identifying feature is the victim had extra teeth like fangs. Josie is stunned when enquiries reveal the body is identified as having the same name and date of birth as her mother. In the course of the investigation a huge family secret is uncovered and it won’t be a straight forward path to revelation. The story swings from current day to Josie’s childhood with an almost hypnotic ease. Always having had an interested in medical related matters I loved the explanations of what’s normal and what is isnt during an autopsy. Josie’s resilience as a child was amazing as well as impressive. She seemed a real survivor. This novel made me consider how hard it must be for children in abusive life situations to cope/survive. I was a bit surprised to read Josie had CCTV installed and neglected to have an alarm system. This seemed odd in light of her law enforcement background and personal experiences. This is the third book in the series and I enjoyed it even more than the second. The author skillfully drew me into Josie’s abusive past and flawlessly switched between past and present events. Readers who enjoy crime mystery thrillers will enjoy dipping into this story. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a free digital copy of the book in return for an honest review.
Her Mothers Grave is book 3 in the Detective Josie Quinn series and in my opinion the best one so far. Absolutely loved this book and am hoping that another one isn't too far away.
Kids are playing in the wood when they discover human bones buried in the dirt. When those bones are identified as Belinda Rose, Jodie's world is about to come crashing down. Belinda Rose was her mothers name. This investigation is personal and all the things that Josie thought she knew about her mother are about to be revealed as lies. So who was her mother really... and who is she?
This book really shows us the real Josie. We learn about her childhood and all the things that she had to endure whist growing up. She learns a lot about herself and the people that she called her family.
This was good, really good. It had all a good thriller should have: mystery, suspense and a lot of crazy. A page turner, with short chapters alternating between present and Josie's childhood. And what a horrible childhood it was. A psychopath mother, who did all to destroy what little happiness her child might have. a must read, I highly recommend.
Omg ALL three books were so so good.mi couldn’t stop reading. I just finished book 3 and I highly recommend this series to mystery loved version. The twists and intensity of each story had no boundaries. They just kept coming. You think you’ve figured it out but then it twists the other way, they were all mind blowing. I looked for book 4 but no luck but thank you for such brilliant stories. Am about to look for more books written by you.
