This is not a read that takes a few minutes of your time. It's all about Frank & how his life unravels due to an accident.

I'm not divulging too much but this causes chance meetings of several characters who have been involved in his life to come face to face. At first it's very turbulent however as the months pass they come to an agreement. Sally was one very noble person, while being dubbed as homely & much older than Iona. Sally could've kicked a few to the kerb but she kept the peace. I loved how the friendship developed with the characters over time.
There's a lot angst, heartache, finding oneself & dealing with the crisis in front of them.
While we hear from all the characters involved there's a lot of revelations made as well as decisions which affect their lives.
I realise this is fiction & while the outcome was advantageous, I wonder what would have happened if the circumstances were different.

Who really knows what goes on under the surface of relationships and what we believe to be our lives, isn't always the truth. The interaction between three strong women and what unravels in their futures is spellbinding. A beautifully written story with all the ingredients of love, hate, distrust and humour. Sheila has done it again with this amazing tale and I heartily recommend the author. Loved it.

Loving this novel. Great holiday read. Very impressed with the author. She writes an interesting family novel. Also enjoying learning about Dublin as it is set there. Five stars from me.

An interesting cast of characters all of whom are well written. Not entirely convinced that the shifts in emotions work.

Interesting storyline, a little improbable but very much Shiela Flanagan. Enjoyed it as it is well written and knew it would end on a good note.

Initially I was enjoying the read but it was way too dragged out. In the end I skim read just so I could finish it

An interesting story about two completely different women who when they meet under awkward circumstances initially dislike each other. They have one thing in common though unbeknowns to both of them before an accident and they end up becoming very close and both very likeable. A third female character, a female detective also grows on you as the story unfolds. The first two women go through a lot of mixed emotions; the story twists and turns but all in all it is an unusual but very interesting and enjoyable story. The daughter of one woman is a bit annoying (usual difficult age) in that she keeps repeating how the situation is the other woman's fault when it is not - this should have been pointed out to her by her mother. It was the only bit that annoyed me. The families of the two women all have a lot to accept but they do and it is great to read about how people can pull through difficult times and emotions. A good ending rounds off a very good story.
